Plane Crash
As a licensed pilot I can attest to the technical knowledge that is required to both fly an airplane, and keep an airplane in mechanically good flight worthy condition. Unfortunately most plane crashes do not have an ending in which there are survivors, because 0f the catastrophic nature of many accidents. There are so many issues that can arise involving airplanes, from yearly FAA mechanical clearances, to documenting each and every new piece that is put onto or into the aircraft. Planes are particularly documented meticulously over their life span, there are logs for just about everything on the plane, and these records are crucial to both the FAA and to your case.
The records as required by the FAA extend to the pilot, not just to the aircraft that the pilot is flying. Much like truck drivers have to keep log books, so do pilots. The flight time of each pilot is required to be logged and kept in a FAA certified log book. The pilot records for flight training, continuing flight training and all other aspects of the pilots license are required to be kept for viewing. There are physical records of fitness to fly that are maintained and forward to the FAA, in regards to the pilots personal health.
Black boxes are another area of evidence that are so very crucial in flight accidents, many times they are the only source to which the FAA can look for in flight data recorded at the time of the accident. During the discovery in a litigated case, these black box recordings can be used to help your claim, and document the history of the aircraft at the time of the accident. The black box can record in cabin voices, and data that the airplane is emitting as it flyes, both can be very crucial to a claim.
As an attorney in these matters it is of the upmost importance to be incredibly thorough in the discovery process, many times these cases can turn on one single piece of evidence, that at the time can seem not to be that important. Attention to detail from the start of the case until the final resolution is key in gaining the best result for a family that has suffered the loss of a loved one in a plane accident.
